Bernal Heights seems like a small village, so it's only logical that the local pet store would have such a friendly feel. Co-owners Michelle McAnanama and Tony Chrisanthis know their canine and human customers by name, and are happy to offer advice and suggestions. The store carries a wide selection of natural foods, as well as treats, grooming supplies, beds, bowls, crates and carrying cases. There's a self-service dog wash station as well as a professional groomer on hand. Bernal Beast takes its role as the neighborhood advocate for pets seriously, and is active in participating in community events and promoting adoption.
