Many of the off-leash areas in San Francisco are about a good workout for dog and person alike. If you prefer to relax on a bench while your dog burns off some excess energy, this is a nice spot to do it. The drainage here isn't great, though, so wear boots if it's been wet. You'll find a water fountain for dogs near the 9th Ave. entrance.
