Northwest
Carry-on dogs and their kennel must weigh less than 15 pounds total, with a maximum kennel size of 17"l x 12"w x 8"h. The charge is $80 each way. Bigger dogs, but only dogs that weigh less than 150 pounds with their kennel, can travel as checked luggage for between $139 and $359 each way, depending on size and weight.

Northwest will transport dogs as checked baggage under their Priority Pet program when outside ground temperatures are as low as 10 degrees (but once it's below 50 degrees you need a note from your vet saying your dog can handle the cold). Under no condition will Northwest allow dogs as checked luggage if it's over 85 degrees (or, for snubbed nose breeds, over 75). Even if it's not that warm, between June 1 and September 15 no dogs can fly as checked luggage to (or from) Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada or Texas (among other hot spots).

Northwest ships pets as cargo only when they are unaccompanied. Cargo costs start at $150 and go up depending on the weight of the dog, the distance traveled, and the type of shipping you pay for. (VIP Live Animal Shipping, available only for dogs who weigh less than 100 pound together with their kennels, is faster and costs more.)
