A volunteer organization dedicated to fundraising to support the city's municipal animal shelter, FSFACC sponsors microchipping several times a year, both at the shelter and at local animal-related events. Microchipping is free for San Francisco residents (a $10 donation is encouraged) and $15 for non-residents. Enrollment in the SFACC database is included, and owners receive documentation that allows them to list their pet in the national database for $6.25, rather than the standard $17.50.
