Oakland's SPCA has a full-service veterinary care center on-site, with standard office visits at $38 and follow-ups at $30. At the organization's drop-in vaccination and microchip clinic, vaccinations range from $14 (for rabies) to $20.50 (for Lyme disease), and microchipping is $30. The cost of the microchip covers registration in the 24PetWatch database.
The organization performs spay and neuter surgery at two locations, in Oakland and Dublin. Fees start at $100 and increase if the dog is obese or pregnant. For low-income residents (including students) with proof of financial status and residence in Alameda County, the fee drops to $50. Pit bulls and pit mixes can be spayed or neutered for free, if you are a resident of Alameda or Contra Costa Counties, as part of the East Bay Pit Fix program.
