Take the Airport Boulevard exit off Hwy. 101 and go west toward the airport. After crossing the railroad tracks, take the first left onto Regional Parkway. Following the signs, take the next left onto Century Court. The shelter is at the end of the street.

A division of the Sonoma County Agricultural Commission, the shelter takes in strays, helps reunite people with their lost pets, enforces humane laws, and provides vet care and licenses.

For dogs under four months $88 to $138, for those over four months, $103-$178. The large range in cost is due to the cost of spaying or neutering, which depends on the size of the dog.

Some of the dogs available for adoption can be viewed on the website, but to see the full complement, you'll have to stop by the shelter. Once you've found a dog you like, you'll have to fill out an adoption application and discuss it with a staff member before the adoption will be approved.

You will need proof that pets are allowed in your home, such as a rental agreement or letter from your landlord.
