When you are ready to adopt, though, it's advisable to make an appointment, by calling or by submitting an application online. You should arrive at the shelter 15 minutes before your appointment time and write down the numbers of two dogs you would like to meet. If you want to meet more than two dogs, you'll have to schedule another appointment.
